Kynard Triples In SWAC & Home Opening Doubleheader

ITTA BENA, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State University softball program opened up SWACtion on Thursday afternoon, falling in their first home twin bill of 2026 by scores of 15-1 and 10-1, both in five frames.

Diamond Devilettes' Top Performers (Game 1):

  • Sheridan Kynard had the best hit of the afternoon for MVSU, legging out a triple to go along with a walk and scoring both of the team's runs in the first contest.

  • Michelle Diaz drove Kynard in both times she got on-base, once on a single and the other via a Hornets miscue, resulting in a multi-RBI outing while also swiping a base.

Diamond Devilettes' Top Performers (Game 2):

  • Kynard kept up a hot stick at the dish with the lone multi-hit showing of the day for the Diamond Devilettes, going 2-for-3 plus a pair of singles.

  • Diaz contributed all three runs batted in of the twin bill, this time bringing around Ashtyn Clark who had previously registered a single in addition to a base on balls.

  • Taniya Partee was the only player with both a hit (single) and a walk for Coach Riddick-Waters.

  • Kaluna-Thomas added a seeing-eye single to her line and Madison Bruce struck out a trio of Hornets in the circle.
