MONROE, La. – The Mississippi Valley State University baseball program nearly notched an upset over the Sun Belt Conference's Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks, taking a 4-4 tie into the eighth inning, but ULM rallied for five runs in the bottom half to escape with a 9-4 decision.

Diamond Devils' Top Performers:
- Gabe Huelsing got three legs of the cycle completed, homering, doubling, and singling along with scoring two of the Devils' four runs.
- Kendall Brookins was a solid 2-for-3 with a multi-RBI (2) night, bringing home a run with a double in the third and a single in the fifth.
- Logan Darnell was the one pitcher to throw multiple frames, striking out one over two scoreless.
- Cody Leming rounded out the extra-base knocks via a two-bagger and was the final student-athlete with more than one hit, crossing the dish in addition to pushing one across.
- Stephen Landaz came through with a pinch-hit single while Tanner Aoki reached safely twice courtesy of a base hit plus a hit-by-pitch.
