PINE BLUFF, Ark. – The Mississippi Valley State University softball program ended non-conference play Wednesday afternoon by falling twice to the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions, 9-1 and 11-2, both in five.

Diamond Devils' Top Performers (Game 1):

• Hailey Akers was the sole Diamond Devil to log an extra-base hit (double) and score in the opener.

• Michelle Diaz collected singles in two of her three at-bats.

• The remainder of the base knocks came courtesy of Madison Wesley, Kelsey Kaluna-Thomas, plus Sheridan Kynard while Madison Bruce averaged a strikeout per inning pitched in the circle (4 K in 4.0 IP).

Diamond Devils' Top Performers (Game 2):

• Diaz made it onboard the base paths all three times to the plate, going 2-2 in official at-bats as well as a walk and an RBI.

• Kaluna-Thomas also reached safely thrice, doing so in both a pair of free passes alongside a single.

• Kynard drove home the contest's other ribbie whereas Taniya Partee cracked a two-bagger to provide the power stroke.

• Devyn Dotson joined the party thanks to a knock and a base on balls and Taylor Fuller coaxed ball four once also.
