Demetri Wilson

Demetri T. Wilson serves as the Recruiting Coordinator and Director of Player Development for the Mississippi Valley State University football program.

Wilson brings extensive experience in college football recruiting, player personnel, operations and student-athlete development, with a background spanning the Power Five, FBS, FCS and NCAA Division II levels.

Prior to joining Mississippi Valley State, Wilson served as Coordinator of Football Operations at Albany State University, where he managed the program’s day-to-day operations, including team travel, housing, meals, logistics and recruiting support. He also assisted with budgeting and vendor relations while working closely with coaches, academics, compliance and athletics administration.

Before his time at Albany State, Wilson served as Director of Recruiting Operations at Fresno State University. In that role, he managed recruiting logistics, coordinated official and unofficial visits, assisted with summer prospect camps and oversaw various recruiting operations and compliance-related activities.

Wilson previously served as Assistant Director of Recruiting Communications at West Virginia University, where he helped develop and execute recruiting communication strategies, coordinated recruiting itineraries and supported the program’s player acquisition efforts.

Prior to West Virginia, Wilson worked with the University of Florida football program as a Player Personnel and Recruiting Assistant. During his time in Gainesville, he supported recruiting operations, prospect evaluations, official and unofficial visits and recruiting analytics while assisting with the identification and evaluation of prospective student-athletes.

Wilson began his collegiate football career at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, where he served as an assistant defensive line coach before transitioning into roles focused on recruiting, player personnel, player development and on-campus recruiting. In those positions, he managed recruiting boards, coordinated prospect visits and assisted student-athletes with enrollment, financial aid, housing, transportation, academic advising and other player services. He was recognized as the NWOSU Ranger Recruiter of the Year in 2018.

A former student-athlete, Wilson played offensive and defensive line at Northwestern Oklahoma State University from 2012-17. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Law Enforcement in 2018 and a master’s degree in Adult Education in 2020.

At Mississippi Valley State, Wilson is focused on building a comprehensive recruiting operation, identifying and evaluating prospective student-athletes, developing recruiting strategies and establishing a player-development structure designed to prepare Delta Devils for success on the field, in the classroom and beyond football.

Wilson is married to his wife, Cydnee, and they have two children, a son, Clayton, and a daughter, Alexandra.
