Eli Johnson

Eli Johnson is entering his second season in 2024 as the Offensive Coordinator at Mississippi Valley State University.  In Johnson’s first year the Offensive Coordinator, the Delta Devils produced a Freshman All-American and FCS Freshmen of the Year Finalist.  Jaxson Davis (Tight End) was named FCS Central Football Freshmen All-American, while Ty’Jarrian William (Quarterback) was a finalist for the Jerry Rice FCS Freshmen of the Year Award.

Johnson spent the 2022 season in Muncie, Indiana, as an offensive graduate assistant at Ball State University. Prior to arriving at Ball State, Johnson served as the run-game coordinator and offensive line coach at Anderson (Ind.) University.

At 24 years old at the time of his hiring, Johnson is one of the youngest offensive coordinators in the nation.

No stranger to Mississippi, Johnson hails from Oxford, Miss., where he was a two-time All-State selection and MaxPreps and Parade All-American offensive lineman at Lafayette High School. He went on to play four seasons at Ole Miss where he started all 12 games at the center position in 2019. He finished his collegiate playing career in 2021 at New Mexico State where he was named to Phil Steele's FBS All-Independent Team as the Aggies' center.
