Grant Simms serves as the Associate Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator and Wide Receivers Coach for Mississippi Valley State University football, continuing his rise through the Delta Devils coaching staff.
Simms joined Mississippi Valley State in 2023 as an Offensive Analyst before being promoted to Pass Game Coordinator and Wide Receivers/Tight Ends Coach. During his time working with the Delta Devils' skill-position players, Simms helped develop Freshman All-American tight end Jaxson Davis and coached 2024 All-SWAC wide receiver Nate Rembert to a 1,000-yard receiving season, establishing a strong record of developing productive playmakers within the MVSU offense.
Simms later transitioned to Quarterbacks Coach and Passing Game Coordinator, expanding his responsibilities in the development, organization and direction of the Delta Devils' passing attack. His continued impact on the program ultimately led to his elevation to Offensive Coordinator and Associate Head Coach.
Prior to entering the collegiate coaching ranks, Simms enjoyed a successful tenure at Leflore County High School, where he helped lead the Tigers to the first state championship appearance in school history.
A former Delta Devil, Simms played at Mississippi Valley State from 2013-17, contributing at both quarterback and wide receiver during his collegiate career.
Now tasked with leading the MVSU offense, Simms brings a combination of offensive versatility, player development, leadership and a deep connection to Mississippi Valley State. His experience as both a former player and coach within the program provides a strong foundation as he continues helping build the next chapter of Delta Devil football.
