Jared Powers joined the Mississippi Valley State Football staff in January 2018 and was promoted to offensive coordinator for the 2019 season. He previously served as the Offensive Line Coach and Recruiting Coordinator.
Powers brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Delta Devils, following coaching stops at the High School, Junior College, NAIA, NCAA Division III, NCAA II, NCAA Division I-FCS, and NCAA Division I-FBS levels. Powers comes to MVSU after a two year stint as the Offensive Line Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Limestone College in Gaffney, S.C.
At the High School level, Powers served as the Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator at North Port High School, a Class (7A) school in North Port, Fla. At NPHS, he was in charge of the freshman, JV and Varsity programs. Powers other head coaching experience includes serving as the Interim Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator at Garden City Community College (Kan.) during the 2014 season.

At the Division I level, Powers spent two seasons as an Offensive Graduate Assistant at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, where he worked with the Offensive Line, Tight Ends, and Special Teams. In 2010, Powers helped guide the Tar Heels to the 2010 Music City Bowl Championship. Following his time in Chapel Hill, Powers served as the Offensive Line Coach at South Carolina State University. While at South Carolina State, Powers helped the Bulldogs win the 2011 MEAC Conference Championship. The Bulldogs were 16th in FCS with only 12 sacks allowed during the 2011 season while also ranking 17th in FCS with 198 rushing yards per game.

He has also served as an Offensive Line Coach at Warner University (FL), Coffeyville Community College (KS) and Dodge City Community College (KS) and Running Backs Coach Worcester Polytechnic Institute (MA).

Powers brings a wealth of recruiting experience to the Valley, having successfully recruited student-athletes at each of his college assignments, and is extensively familiar with the talent throughout the Southeastern and Midwest regions of the United States. He has also recruited or coached a number of players which have played professionally in the NFL including three First Round Picks in (OT) James Carpenter, (DT) Sylvester Williams, and (OG) Jon Cooper.
As a player, Powers was a three-time All-Conference Offensive Lineman while splitting his collegiate career between William Jewell College (MO) and Ferrum College (VA).
Powers holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from William Jewell College.
