Javier Gonzalez

Javier Gonzalez is entering his second season as Linebackers Coach for Mississippi Valley State Football.

Gonzalez comes to MVSU after spending one season as Assistant Head Coach and Special Teams Coordinator at Coahoma Community College.

Prior to Coahoma, Gonzalez served as Linebackers coach at Kentucky State University. Gonzalez also served as Linebackers coach at Jones County Junior College, and Brevard College (North Carolina).

Prior to Brevard, Gonzalez was at the University of Southern Mississippi where he served as a defensive quality control coach.

Before returning to the Golden Eagles, Gonzalez worked at Minot State University as the cornerback’s coach.

In 2013-14, Gonzalez served as a graduate assistant at the University of Southern Mississippi.

Gonzalez also worked at Wofford College as a defensive quality control coach in 2012-13. He was a staff member for the team's 2012 Southern Conference Championship.

In addition, Gonzalez worked at Joliet Junior College (2009-11) coaching the secondary. He was an assistant football coach, working with wide receivers, at Joliet Central High School (2008) and was the Hammond High School head freshman coach and assistant varsity coach in (2006).

Gonzalez earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Governors State University in 2009 before earning a master's degree in public safety administration from Lewis University in 2010
