Kendrick Wade

Kendrick J. Wade is entering his first year as the wide receivers coach at Mississippi Valley State University. During the 2017 season, Wade work with the wide receivers as the graduate assistant for Mississippi Valley. Prior to his start date with the Delta Devils, Wade served dual roles, head football coach and assistant track and field coach, at Middle College High School in Memphis, Tennessee, from 2014-2017.

During his first year coaching at The Valley, Wade coached and developed the top receiver in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (Quinn McElfresh), who was also named SWAC Newcomer of the year and 2nd Team All-SWAC. Another notable performance Wade coached was Steven McIntosh, who finished in the top 10 in the SWAC in receiving.  
 
Wade also served as the athletic director of Maxine Smith Steam Academy from 2014-2017; along with handling administrative duties and serving as the head track and field coach. Wade was a regional scout for the Tennessee Future Stars – which the Tennessee State All-Star team.

From 2010-2013, Wade could be located standing on the sidelines as the head coach for Fairview Middle School in Memphis, Tenn. and spearheading the track and field team as the head coach. During his time at Fairview, Wade taught physical education.

During his playing days at MVSU, Wade was named MVSU's Most Outstanding Wide Receiver in 2004 and broke the school record for longest receiving touchdown (82 yards vs Grambling).  

Wade also led MVSU in all receiving categories.  In 2016, he was named to MVSU's All-Decade Football Team (2000-2009).  

After completing his playing days at MVSU, Wade played four years of professional indoor football in Texas (Arena Football).

Wade earned an Associate of Arts in Athletic Administration and Coaching from Coahoma Community College in Clarksdale, Mississippi, in May 2002. While at Coahoma, Wade was the Most Valuable Player during his sophomore year and named to the Junior College All-Star game.

Wade, a two-time Mississippi Valley State University graduate, earned his Master of Science degree in sport administration (May 2018) and a Bachelor of Science in Health, Physical Education and Recreation (May 2007).

A native of Cleveland, Mississippi, Wade was All-District in both football and baseball at East Side High School.

Wade has a son, Dominic Wade.
