Kendrick Wade is entering his 2nd year as the head coach at his Alma Mater. In Wade’s 1st year at the helm, the Delta Devils produced two All-Americans and FCS Freshmen of the Year Finalist.  Jaxson Davis (Tight End) was named FCS Central Football Freshmen All-American, Omar Emmons (Defensive Back) was named PFF (FCS) All-American, while Ty’Jarrian William (Quarterback) was a finalist for the Jerry Rice FCS Freshmen of the Year Award.
 
In January of 2023, Wade return to MVSU after 7 years of head coaching experience on the high school and middle school level, followed by 6 years as an assistant coach on the collegiate level. He is the 18th head football coach to lead the Delta Devils. Wade is widely regarded as one of the elite Wide Receiver coaches in the nation, and also known as an exceptional recruiter and a great motivator.
 
Wade is coming from Delta State University in Cleveland, MS. Wade was hired as the Wide Receivers Coach at Delta State in March 2022, and his addition to the Statesmen’s staff produced immediate results.
In 2022, the Statesmen offense was one of the most explosive offenses in the nation. DSU averaged 41.2 (PPG), 471.8 (YPG) and a National Division 2 playoff berth. Delta State finished the 2022 season with an 11-2 record, and Gulf South Conference Champions.
 
Coach Wade led a talented Wide Receiver core at DSU and helped develop one of the top Wide Receivers in the GSC. Senior Wide Receiver Dohnte Myers finished the season as the GSC leader in Receptions (65) 2nd in receiving yards (877), and 3rd in the GSC with 8 receiving touchdowns. Myers was named All Gulf South Conference 1st Team Wide Receiver.
 
Another notable performer was Senior Wide Receiver/Return Specialist Tyler Kennedy. In 2022, Kennedy led the Gulf South Conference in kick return average (27.7), kick return touchdowns (1), and longest kick return (96). Kennedy's performance earned him All Gulf South Conference 2nd Team Return Specialist.
In January 2020, Kendrick Wade joined the staff at Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, Georgia.  FVSU Head Coach Maurice Flowers and Kendrick Wade had previously worked together at Mississippi Valley State University in 2018, where Wade was the Wide Receivers Coach and Flowers served as the Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach.
 
During his two-year stint at Fort Valley, Wade served as Wildcats Pass Game Coordinator and Wide Receivers Coach. While at FVSU, Wade coached All-SIAC Wide Receiver Shemar Bridges. In 2021, Bridges senior year was cut short due to an injury; he still signed as an Undrafted Free Agent with the Baltimore Ravens. Bridges remains a member of the Baltimore Ravens football team.

In 2019, Wade coached the wide receivers at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa. Under his tutelage, the wide receiver core at Briar Cliff improved immensely during the 2019 season. Wide receiver/Return Specialist Rashad Brown had a breakout season and was named to the All-GPAC Team.

In 2017, Wade returned to his alma mater, Mississippi Valley State University, to coach the wide receivers.  In his first-year coaching at The Valley, Wade helped groom wide receiver Quinn McElfresh into an explosive “Playmaker” and the Southwestern Athletic Conference leading wide receiver in receptions per game & 2nd in receiving yards per contest. McElfresh was named SWAC Newcomer of the Year and earned All-SWAC 2nd Team Wide Receiver for his breakout season.
 
In 2018, Wade helped groom wide receiver/return specialist Booker T. Chamber into one of the most dynamic players in the nation. Chambers ranked 7th in the nation in all-purpose yards for the 2018 season. Chambers was a Conerly Finalist and was named Botox All-American. Chambers also earned All-SWAC 1st Team as a return specialist & All-SWAC 2nd Team as a wide receiver.

In 2014, Coach Wade was named as the first head football coach at Middle College High School in Memphis, Tenn. By Wade’s third year as head coach at MCHS, his team finished every season with a winning record and playoff appearances. Wade also served as the head track coach, Athletic Director, & Administrative Assistant at Maxine Smith STEAM Academy from 2014-2017.

From 2010-2014, Wade could be located standing on the sidelines as the head football and head track coach for Fairview Middle School in Memphis, Tenn. During his time at Fairview Middle School, Wade taught Physical Education.
