Entering his 1st season with the Delta Devils working with the Wide Receivers. Gant’s experience includes high school; primarily based out of Tennessee and at the collegiate level. This is his second stint in the SWAC as an assistant coach, his first full-time opportunity to coach in the conference in his career came in 2017. Gant coached and developed top high school talent in the Memphis Metropolitan Area. He also worked with top high school coaches in the area; some now coach in the college ranks.
Last season as the Offensive Coordinator & Assistant Head Coach for the Fayette-Ware Wildcats, being a part of the Wildcat program under Coach Woodrow Lowe during his 1st season at Fayette-Ware in 2022 they finished the regular season as the # 1 rushing offense with an avg. 283.4 yards per game in Shelby Metro TN 2022 Top 10 offense in Shelby Metro TN and coached a Region MVP Braylon Cato with an average 198 per game 8.1 per carry.
Prior to coming to Fayette-Ware HS Gant shared his passion for recruiting, mentoring, and developing young men to be successful at the next level and beyond the field. After leaving the Jayhawk Conference as a Wide Receiver coach at Ft. Scott JC in Kansas in 2020 due to covid. After not playing the previous season due to Covid in the 2021 season Gant was named offensive coordinator and earned the recruiting coordinator college liaison title for Germantown High school in Tennessee. Under Head Coach Gene Robinson they finished with an 8-3 record that season, second in the 6A-Region 8 with a record of (7-1) after a successful regular season the Red Devils lost in the playoffs 1st round by a last-second field goal. They had 11 seniors sign scholarships to play at the collegiate level, four student-athletes were signed to NCAA Division I schools.
In 2019 he coached the defensive secondary at Lausanne Collegiate School, Memphis, TN under Head Coach Kevin Locastro. In 2018, Gant served as the Fairley High School Offensive Coordinator. Under Head Coach Gene Robinson III and Gant’s tutelage Fairley turned into one of the top offenses in Class 2AA: averaging 38.7 ppg; finishing in the top 10 in TSSAA, with one of the top rushing offenses in the state averaging 230.8 ypg; along with a two time Mr. Football finalist with 162.6 ypg average and finished with back to back undefeated district titles.
Gant also started an underclassmen prep training program in Memphis with the Tennessee Selection Organization 7-on-7 Team. One of the top high school prep organizations in the country, they provide training, tutoring, and recruiting with over 100 student-athletes currently enrolled at a university.
