Coach Wyatt Anderson enters his second year at MVSU as Running Backs Coach & Run Game Coordinator under the direction of Head Coach Kendrick Wade. Anderson also serves as the Recruiting Coordinator on staff. Coach Anderson brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Running Backs room.

In Anderson’s time in the Delta, The Running Back Room has maintained a 3.0+ GPA, As the recruiting coordinator the Delta Devils have had back-to-back highest ranked recruiting classes in school history and highest rated signees in school history (247 Sports).

Coach Anderson comes to The Valley from Southeast Missouri State where he helped The Redhawks to a magical 2022 season that saw 9 Wins and an undefeated (5-0) Ohio Valley Conference Championship. The Redhawks advanced to the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) Playoffs for the third time in five years and posted their fourth nine-win season in program history. The SEMO Defense finished #1 in the OVC in Scoring Defense, #1 in the OVC in Rushing Defense, & #1 in the OVC in Total Defense.

Before Southeast Missouri State, Coach Anderson oversaw the Running Backs room at Arkansas Tech University under the direction of Head Coach Kyle Shipp. Coach Anderson oversaw all the managers and student assistants. He was an integral part of the recruiting process, in signing multiple prospects including 1 FBS transfer for the Wonder Boys Football program. Anderson also served as the Social Media Coordinator for the program.

Prior to ATU, Anderson joined the Black Hills State University coaching staff as the Wide Receiver’s coach in May of 2019 under the direction of Head Coach John Reiners. During Anderson’s time in the Black Hills of South Dakota, he played a major role in jump-starting and improving the passing game production in many statistical categories while heavily involved in the passing game plan. With Anderson the Yellow Jackets Offense jumped from 74th to 46th in the nation on 3rd down conversion percentage, passing efficiency improved from 98.22 to 102.43; yards per completion improved from 9.87 yards to 10.77 yards. With Anderson leading the Wide Receiver position group, the Yellow Jackets had an all-conference WR selection in Keilar Harpham, who with Anderson, improved his catches from 42 to 60 catches; 379 to 729 yards receiving; 1 to 6 touchdowns. Harpham finished 6th in receptions in the RMAC while missing two games due to injury.

Anderson went to BHSU from Florida Atlantic University where he spent the 2018 season. He joined the FAU staff as an Offensive Assistant/Assistant Tight Ends coach under the direction of Head Coach Lane Kiffin and Tight End coach Clint Trickett in the summer of 2018. In addition to working primarily with the tight end position in an offense that finished 14th in total offense in FBS, he worked with first-team All-Conference USA tight end Harrison Bryant whom the next season won the Mackey award for the Best TE in college football and became a 4th round draft selection of the Cleveland Browns.

Anderson was an Offensive Assistant/Assistant Wide Receivers Coach at Mississippi State beginning in 2016. Under the direction of head coach Dan Mullen and Wide Receivers coach Billy Gonzales, he worked directly with the wide receiver position and assisted in the development of the school's career leaders in receptions, Fred Ross and Jordan Thomas. Anderson was responsible for breaking down upcoming opponent game films and opposing defense personnel.

Before trading in his pads for a clipboard, Anderson played wide receiver for Mississippi State University from 2014 to 2015. As a WR for the Bulldogs, Mississippi State achieved its first No. 1 ranking in school history for five straight weeks, the best record in school history (10-3), and a New Year's Six Bowl appearance in the Capital One Orange Bowl.
