Khalid Campbell

Khalid Campbell is in his 4-5th year of coaching and his second year at MVSU after previously coaching as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (2020-2021) and Harding University (2021-2022), and at Mississippi Delta Community College (2022-2023). He played at UAPB under Hall of Fame Coach George Ivory, (2016-2020) where the team put on one of the best seasons in 2018, as they went on to be runner-ups at the SWAC Championship. During his college campaign Campbell was diagnosed with a career limiting syndrome (POTS & NeuroCardioGenic Syncope). He worked his way back to become cleared and finished out his college basketball career, while also starting his coaching/training career.  

Campbell has served in many positions including social media coordinator, player development coach, and more. He eventually worked the first ever HBCU All Star game in New Orleans, LA, and also with WNBA president Renee Montgomery’s media company. and continues to be a key contributor to their organization.  

Campbell is a native of Greenwood, MS where he played 4 years at Greenwood High School. He is also the son of GHS and MVSU women’s basketball/track star Tracey Campbell. He obtained many accolades, and also a district championship (2015) & was honored as an All Commonwealth player during his senior year (2016).
