Spring 2021 - Preseason All-SWAC 2nd Team

2018 Season: Completed 318 assists to lead the Devilettes … won Rookie of the Year for the team … primary setter for the team from late September to mid-October… added 123 digs, 22 kills, 10 aces, and seven blocks … highest assist total was 33 against Dillard on October 15th. 

Personal: Birthday is October 6 … daughter of Taunia and Reginald Austin … siblings are Evan and JaJuan ... business administration major at MVSU … athletic accomplishments include a 1st Team All-District and Offensive Player of the Year in high school … academic accomplishment includes All-District and All-State honors … member of the 360 Volleyball Club … chose Valley because of the opportunity while gaining a degree at an HBCU that showed a unique experience she couldn’t get somewhere else … proudest accomplishment is where she is today - fulfilling a dream of playing college volleyball, growing and learning, and being a young black woman who is not a statistic … after graduation, she plans on going into some type of digital marketing or fashion marketing … her cousin Sharon Ortiz is her biggest inspiration because she always grinds to make her coin and is focused on her clients and works hard for everything she does … hobbies outside of volleyball include spending time with family and friends, working out, reading, eating and sleeping … favorite movie is Dreamgirls, favorite musician is Jhene Aiko, and favorite book is The Hate You Give … personal goals are to grow and figure out who she is in order to become an overall better individual not only for herself but for others … athletic goals are to be the best teammate, friend, and player for her team and coach, as well as do anything and everything to qualify for the SWAC tournament.
