Delta Devils suffer 77-42 setback at Bradley

Box Score PEORIA, Ill. -- Julius Francis had a career-night for Mississippi Valley State on Wednesday.

It, unfortunately, wasn't enought for the Delta Devils (0-7) to capture its first victory of the season as Valley fell 77-42 to Bradley at Carver Arena in the 2012 Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic.

Francis put up a career-high 21 points and nine rebounds, but the junior college transfer was the only Delta Devil to score to double-figures. Bradley limited MVSU's leading scorer, Davon Usher, to just two points, which ended his six-game double-digit scoring streak.

Francis was finished 7-of-10 from the field and was perfect from the free throw line connecting on all seven attempts. But other Valley players struggled to make shots as the Delta Devils shot just 27.8 percent from the field and made 1-of-17 three-pointers.

Tyshon Pickett led the Braves with 18 points and nine rebounds.

MVSU and Bradley will both now head to Las Vegas to compete in the next round of the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic. MVSU will host Georgia Southern at 3 p.m. CST on Saturday at the Orleans Arena. They'll then play the winner between Cal State-Bakersfield and North Florida on Sunday.
