Michael James was bestowed the honor of being placed on the BOXTOROW First Team on Monday morning.

James, a junior guard from Byhalia, Mississippi, earned SWAC Newcomer of the Year and All-SWAC First Team accolades while winning six conference weekly awards throughout the course of the 2025-26 regular season.

The Meridian Community College transfer ranked top-15 in the nation for free throw percentage (90.4%), points per game (21.4), minutes per game (36:48), total points (685), field goals made (240), and field goal attempts (549).

A product of HW Byers High School, he also landed among the Southwestern Athletic Conference's best regarding field goal percentage (43.7%), steals per game (1.75), free throws made (123), and total steals (56) in addition to leading the league in three point percentage (34%), three-pointers per game (2.56), and total threes (82).
