Crosby hits game-winner to give Delta Devils SWAC title

Box Score

ITTA BENA -- It was an ending Mississippi Valley State will remember for years to come.

With Prairie View leading the undefeated Delta Devils 58-57 with 12 seconds remaining, Terrence Joyner pushed the ball up court and found an open Paul Crosby in the corner for an open three-pointer. The Lansing, Mich. native knocked it down and the Delta Devils kept their unblemished conference record in tact with a magical 60-58 win over the Panthers (11-15, 7-6 SWAC).

The win secures the MVSU's first regular season SWAC title since the 2006-07 season. Valley (15-11, 14-0 SWAC) continued its historic stretch with its 14th straight victory.

Crosby, who was one of seven seniors to be recognized on Senior Day, led the Delta Devils with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Terrence Joyner and Brent Arrington chipped in nine points apiece for Valley, who will face Texas Southern at 6 p.m. on Monday live on ESPNU.

Jules Montgomery (12 points, 13 rebounds) was one of three Panthers to score in double-figures. Ronald Wright and Jourdan Demuynck contributed 11 points each.

MVSU hit 19 of 58 shots (32.8 percent), including seven of 29 shots from the arc. Valley went 15 of 27 from the free throw line.
