Box Score ITTA BENA -- The Mississippi Valley State women's basketball team used a strong second half effort Saturday to defeat Prairie View A&M 65-57 at the Harrison HPER Complex.

Lenise Stallings and Alia Frank led MVSU with 14 points each to lead the Devilettes (7-10, 4-2 SWAC) past the reigning SWAC Tournament champions.

JaQuandria Williams led Prairie View (5-10, 3-3 SWAC) with 16 points on 6 on 11 shots off the bench.

Prairie View led 32-30 at halftime, but Valley turned it up a notch in the second half outscoring the Lady Panthers 35-25 in the final 20 minutes.

MVSU shot 41.9 percent from the field and made 10 of 14 free throws. The Devilettes are currently ranked fourth in the SWAC.

MVSU will be back at home Monday at 5:30 p.m. against Texas Southern.
