THE DELTA | A new season of Mississippi Valley State women's basketball is set to begin as the Delta Devils welcome Tougaloo College to Itta Bena on Thursday, October 29, for their 2026-27 season opener. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex.

Entering his second full season at the helm, head coach Jason James looks to guide Mississippi Valley State into a new chapter as the Delta Devils take the court with a combination of returning experience and fresh talent.

Leading the charge for Valley is standout returner Sydnei Marshall, who is expected to play a significant role in the Delta Devils' success this season. Marshall brings valuable experience and leadership to a roster looking to build momentum throughout the 2026-27 campaign.

Joining Marshall as one of the team's key additions is newcomer Bryana Block, who looks to make an immediate impact in her first season wearing the green and white. Block headlines a group of new faces expected to provide additional depth and energy as Mississippi Valley State prepares for the challenges ahead.

With James continuing to establish his vision for the program, the Delta Devils will look to develop chemistry, build consistency and establish a competitive identity as they prepare for another season of Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) competition.

Thursday's matchup against Tougaloo provides Valley with an opportunity to open the new campaign on its home floor in front of the Delta Devil faithful.
