CLINTON, Miss. -- Mississippi Valley State claimed the first three individual spots Friday at the Watson Ford Invitational and the Delta Devils cross country team placed first among three Division-I competing teams.
MVSU finished with an average time of 30:23.96, which put them ahead of Jackson State and Alcorn State who finished second and third, respectively.
In the 8k run, Felix Kiprop earned the No. 1 spot with a time of 27:51.44 while Jose Serrano grabbed second place with a 28:14.11 finish. Romello Nalepa claimed third place with a time of 28:48.41.
Other MVSU runners included 12th place Juan Perez (32:21.74) and 16th place Theodore Johnson (34:44.07).
Valley will be off until Oct 18 when they compete in a meet hosted by the University of Alabama.
