Box Score ITTA BENA -- The Mississippi Valley State women's basketball team won its fifth straight game Monday following a 61-57 victory over Southern University at the Harrison HPER Complex.
Khristina Clemons paced the Devilettes (12-12, 9-4 SWAC) with 12 points while Alia Frank chipped in a double-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds.
Britney Washington and Adrian Sanders led Southern (11-13, 10-3 SWAC) with 14 points each off the bench for a Lady Jaguar team that shot 29.5 percent.
MVSU shot 34.7 percent from the field and made 25 of 33 free throws. Lenise Stalling had nine points for Valley while A'Shanti Weathers and Joncyee Sanders chipped in eight each.
The Devilettes will be on the road at Prairie View on Saturday. Tip off is set for 3 p.m.
