JACKSON, Miss. -- Mississippi Valley State women's volleyball put up a great fight unfortunately succumbed to rival Jackson State, 3-0, Wednesday night.
The Lady Tigers swept the Devilettes: 25-11, 25-15, 25-20. It was the first of three conference games for the Devilettes this week.
Ilashia Hale had a team-high five kills in the loss while Halle Gayten chipped in four and eight digs defensively for MVSU (4-24, 0-7 SWAC). Alexandria Garland accounted for 15 of the team's 17 assists in the game.
Valley will be back on the road Friday at Alabama A&M.
