ITTA BENA, Miss. --- The Mississippi Valley State University Devilettes dropped an overwhelming 3-0 decision to the Lady Golden Lions of the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Ilaisha Hale, Halley Gayten and Megan Jones each paced Mississippi Valley with five kills each. Hale also led the team in blocks with three, Marissa Chalmers and Brianna Watkins recorded two blocks each. Brooklyn Hudson was on fire with 15 assists, while Kalin Barnes and Marissa Chalmers added four and two respectively.
Barnes led the Devilettes with 23 digs, while Gayten tallied 11 and Hudson wrapped with 10.
The set scores were 25-11, 25-19 and 25-13.
The Mississippi Valley State volleyball team will travel to Jackson, Mississippi, to participate in the first Southwestern Athletic Conference Volleyball Roundup next week. On October 16
th the Devilettes will face the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 9:00 a.m and Prairie View A & M at 1:00 p.m. On the 17
th the team has the dauting task of playing three contests. At 9:00 a.m. MVSU will face Southern University, Texas Southern at 1:00 p.m. and will finish with Grambling State University at 7:00 p.m.
