Itta Bena, Miss. --- The Devilettes of Mississippi Valley State fought hard but could not overcome their offensive errors, dropping a 3-0 decision to the Lady Hornets of Alabama State University.

Cynthia Richardson, Halle Gayten and Marissa Chalmers tallied nine and six kills respectively.  The Devilettes recorded four service aces combined; Chalmers (2), while Liyah Davis and Brooklyn Hudson each added one each.
 
Hudson dominated in assists, with 27 for Mississippi Valley. Richardson paced the Devilettes with three blocks. In digs, Kalin Barnes led the team with 12.

The set scores were 25-21, 25-17, and 25-14.
