Denver, Colo. - The Mississippi Valley State Men's basketball team fell one point short in their contest against the Air Force, dropping the game 65-64 with 1.1 seconds left on the clock.

The first half belonged to Mississippi Valley, as they entered the halftime break up 43-29. Latrell Love paced the Delta Devils in the opening half with nine points, while Michael Matlock pulled down six rebounds.
With the momentum in their favor, the Delta Devils continued to press coming out of the break, but the Air Force chipped away at their lead. In the final minute the contest was tight and with less that five seconds remaining, MVSU took a one-point lead. The Air Force ran the full length of the court to score a lay-up with 1.1 remaining on the clock.
Three Delta Devils finished with 11-points each; Love, Kylan Phillips and Damian Young. Matlock finished with nine rebounds to pace Mississippi Valley.
Head Coach Andre Payne stated, "Air Force was a game we definitely had a chance of winning. As we continued to build continuity with nine players, we are going to learn how to close those games out."
