Phoenix, Ariz. – The Delta Devils of Mississippi Valley State University dropped a 94-60 decision to the Grand Canyon University 'Lopes.
The contest opened with the 'Lopes going on a 17-point run, however the Delta Devils gained their footing and chipped away at the deficit. Entering the locker-room at halftime, MVSU was trailing GCU 44-31. Damian Young paced Mississippi Valley in the first half with 10-points and one steal.
The second half proved to be the Delta Devils' Achilles heal, with Grand Canyon building an impressive lead. In the second half, Latrell Love tallied 14-points in 12 minutes to lead the Delta Devils.
Love completed the contest leading the offensive charge for Mississippi Valley with 16-points and two rebounds. Isaac Williams tallied 15-points and three rebounds. Young added 10-points, one steal and one rebound. Rashaan Surles finished with eight points, eight rebounds, five assists, three steals, and one block.
The Delta Devils will be in action again on Wednesday, November 25 at 7:00 pm, when they travel to Provo, Utah, to take on Brigham Young University.
