Evansville, Ind. - The Delta Devils of Mississippi Valley State University fell to the Purple Aces of the University of Evansville, 95-60.
Marcus Romain led the Delta Devils with 25 points, four rebounds and three assists,; while Isaac Williams put up 10 points, three rebounds, one assist and one steal. Damian Young's sly hands tallied three steals, nine points, three rebounds and two assists. Michael Matlock and Ronald Strother, Jr. paced the team with eight and seven rebounds respectively.
Romain stated, "As a team we need to hold ourselves accountable for what's being done on the court."
Evansville was paced by D.J. Balentine, who finished with 20-points, two rebounds, four assists and four turnovers.
"We have to get better defensively and consistent scoring from a number of players. We can't afford to rely on our defense so much," said Head Coach Andre Payne.
On Tuesday, December 15
th, the Mississippi Valley will take on Northwestern University at 7:00 p.m. in Evanston, Illinois.
