BIRMINGHAM --- The Devilettes of Mississippi Valley State dropped two contests on the final day of the University of Alabama-Birmingham. MVSU succumbed to the hosting UAB Blazers 3-0 and wrapped with Ole Miss 3-0.
 
The set scores against UAB were 25-9, 25-7 and 25-9 and against Ole Miss, 25-4, 25-8 and 25-21.
 
In the opening match, Halle Gayten led the Devilettes with four kills and four digs. Miranda Tapia posted three assists and seven digs.

The Devilettes finished the contest against the Blazers with five kills, 19 errors and 62 total attacks.
 
In their match against Ole Miss, Kalin Barnes led the team with six kills, while Richardson tallied four. Richardson paced the team with two blocks, while Barnes and Gayten added one. Tapia tallied 10 assists and Bianca Watkins added one. In digs, Tiara Wilkens posted eight, Gayten had four and Barnes posted three.
 
MVSU will host the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Tuesday September22 at 7:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast of the SWAC digital network.
