ITTA BENA, Miss. --- The Mississippi Valley State Devilettes fell to the Lady Golden Lions of the University of Arkansas- Pine Bluff in a 3-0 decision.

Marissa Chalmers and Halle Gayten paced MVSU with nine kills, while Cynthia Richardson added two. Chalmers had led the Devilettes with two aces; Gayten and Kalin Barnes added one each. Illiasha Hale, Richardson and Miranda Tapia contributed three, two and one block respectively. Bianca Watkins tallied 11 assists, while Tapia and Chalmers added nine and two. Barnes tallied 21, Gayten added six and Megan Jones contributed four, in the dig category.

The Devilettes finished with 26 kills, 23 errors and 98 total attacks. The score per set breaks down to: 25-22, 25-22 and 25-18.

Mississippi Valley will travel to Alabama, this weekend to take on the Lady Hornets of Alabama State University in Montgomery on Saturday, September 26, before traveling on to Huntsville to take on the Lady Bulldogs of Alabama A & M University on September 27. Both games are set for 5:00 p.m.
