MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Devilettes of Mississippi Valley State fell 3-0 to the Lady Hornets of Alabama State Univeristy in Montgomery, Alabama.

Halle Gayten led MVSU with nine kills, while Marissa Chalmers, Cynthia Richardson added seven and six respectively. Kalin Barnes recorded two serving aces. Miranda Tapia tallied 24 assists, while Ilaisha Hale and Richardson added one each. Barnes tallied 17; Gayten and Megan Jones contributed five and four respectively, in the dig category. Richardson tallied five blocks to pace the Devilettes.

The Devilettes finished with 28 kills, 19 errors and 91 total attacks. The score per set breaks down to: 25-22, 25-13 and 25-23.

Mississippi Valley will be in action again on September 27 in Huntsville, Alabama as they take on divisional foe, Alabama A & M University. First set is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
