HOUSTON – The Devilettes volleyball team fell 3-0 in the first of their two-game conference roadtrip to Houston, Texas. MVSU faced the Lady Tigers of Texas Southern, the set break down was 25-18, 25-14 and 25-7.

The first two sets were competitive and could have gone either way as Mississippi Valley forced Texas Southern to dig deep into their offensive repertoire. By the third set, offensively the Devilettes were unable to muster a strong attack.

Cynthia Richardson recorded six kills while Kalin Barnes tallied five and Illiya Trahan chipped in four. Brooklyn Hudson and Nadia Crawford each recorded one ace each. Richardson paced MVSU with two blocks, while Megan Jones and Trahan added one. Hudson recorded 12 assists for the Devilettes.

Mississippi Valley will take on the Lady Panthers of Prairie View A & M on Friday, October 21 at 3:00 PM.
