MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The Delta Devils fell to 0-2, on the season to West Virginia 107-66, in Morgantown, West Virginia.
The 19
th- ranked Mountaineers dominated the contest from all angles of the court. Mississippi held a brief lead on a three-pointer by Isaac Williams, 3-2, however that lead was short lived.
West Virginia nailed 41-83 baskets, nine of which were from beyond the three-point line.
Marcus Romain continued his domination from last season, landed 4-10 field goals and one of four of three attempts to lead the Delta Devils with 13-points, four rebounds, three assists and two blocks.
Mississippi Valley's newcomer, Jevon Smith made his presence known for Mississippi Valley with 12-points, one steal and one block.
Jamal Watson was a force pulling down six rebounds, one block, one assist and eight points.
Michael Matlock tallied six-points eight rebounds and three steals.
The Delta Devils will attempt to turn things around when they travel to Kent, Ohio, to face Kent State on November 16 at 7:00 p.m.
