SPOKANE, Wash. -  Before a crowd 6,000 the Delta Devils attempted to land their first win of the season in an upset of the Zags, instead falling 97-63.

In the opening half, Gonzaga landed a three-pointer to start scoring, moving up 3-0. A layup by Amos Given in-the-paint shorten the lead to 3-2 with 19:28 remaining. Another three by the Zags increased the lead to four-points.

Rashaan Surles scored a layup with 17:53 on the clock to cut into the point deficit accumulated by Gonzaga. Kylan Phillips found Surles in three-point range, to give the Delta Devils a one-point edge, 7-6. The Zags went on a run, outpacing MVSU in the final minutes of the half for a 49-28 advantage going into the halftime break.

Following the break, Gonzaga missed a three-pointer, Terence Taylor nailed a three to cut into the Zags' lead. Both teams were able to make clutch plays during the second, however homecourt and the final advantage went to the Zags.

Given finished with 14-points and three rebounds, while Surles tallied 13-points, seven rebounds, five steals, two blocks and one assist. Terence Taylor added 11-points, three rebounds and one assist.
