BATON ROGUE, La. - On a day reserved to pay homage to leadership, the Delta Devils of Mississippi Valley State University were unable to muster a presidential defensive plan in their 64-97 loss to the Southern University Jaguars.
Allowing half of Southern's point total to come from points in the paint as well as turnovers proved to be problematic for the Delta Devils.
Shooting 50% from behind the arc and with a bevy of acrobatic layups Marcus Romain kept the Delta Devils within 15 points for much of the first half.
Issac "Ike" Williams asserted himself on the glass grabbing 4 defensive rebounds the second half bringing his total to 5 for the game.
The Delta Devils bring heat to the hardwood, next when they face conference foe Texas Southern Saturday February 20
th at 4pm in Morehead, Mississippi.
