ITTA BENA – The Delta Devils of Mississippi Valley were unable to gain any traction in game one of their three game series against the Hornets of Alabama State University. The Hornets secured the win 12-0 in seven innings.

The opening inning went scoreless for both teams. Alabama State was able to score in each of the following innings except the sixth. They scored twice in the second, three in the third, one in the fourth and fifth. The seventh inning proved to be a hot hitting inning for the Hornets as they scored five runs.
 
Mississippi Valley ended the contest with three hits and no errors; Alabama State tallied 12 runs on 13 hits and no errors.
