ITTA BENA, Miss. --- Mississippi Valley faced off against the hosting Mocs of the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, dropping the contest 3-0.

Mississippi Valley State and UTC's sets by scores were as follows:  25-9, 25-7 and 25-8. The Devilettes dropped to 1-3 on the season.

Marissa Chalmers paced MVSU with four kills, Cynthia Richardson tallied two and Megan Jones added one. On the assistance stat line, Jaime Polk, Brooklyn Hudson and Sydney Robinson completed the match with four, three and one respectively.

Robinson led the digs category with 10, while Hudson and Illiya Trahan each put up four.

"We played a great team in UTC and I am proud of the way the team responded to the pressure. We are young but I with continued growth, the team will shape up well during conference play," stated Coach Hunter.

Sydney Robinson was named to the Chattanooga Classic – All-Tournament Team.
