Bulldogs Suppress Delta Devils, 49-14

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Mississippi Valley entered the contest against Southwestern Athletic Conference eastern division opponent, Alabama A & M University, riding a wave of last week's victory over the University of Arkansas – Pine Bluff. Looking to build on their momentum, the Delta Devils were unable to get things going until the third quarter, at which time, the Bulldogs had built an outstanding lead, prior to taking the contest 49-14.

AAMU was able to score once in the first and once in the second, taking a 14-point lead into halftime. Mississippi Valley's defense contained Alabama A & M, yet they were able to score at crucial times. The first points for the Bulldogs came on an eight-yard run by Damion May at 1:33 (first quarter). May found the end zone again in the second, with a seven-yard run.

The third quarter saw a lot of points put up on the board. Both Mississippi Valley and Alabama A & M scored 14-points during the period. With 11:05 on the clock, Dylan Hamilton returned an interception for 52-yards. Issiah Bailey sent a 47-yard rocket into the arms of May for another Bulldog trip to the end zone. Charlie Crenshaw scored for the Delta Devils on a three-yard run, while Nicholas Jacquemin notched the extra point. Booker Chambers stepped up and pulled down a 10-yard touchdown pass from Christopher Fowler with 1:37 remaining in the quarter. Jacquemin' point after attempt was tried and true, sailing through the uprights.

AAMU was able to score an additional 14-points in the final period of the contest.
