Mississippi Valley Manhandles Virginia University of Lynchburg, 53-5

ITTA BENA – The Delta Devils of Mississippi Valley bypassed Virginia University of Lynchburg 53-5 on Homecoming 2017.

The name Booker T. Chambers continued to ring throughout the afternoon, as he scored four touchdowns for the contest. In the first quarter, Chambers scored on a 60-yard pass from Jett Even.

Early is the second, Lynchburg scored a 26-yard field goal. Eric Collins, Jr., scored on a 30-yard pass from Even. Chambers dashed into the end zone at 8:57 to increase the Delta Devil lead.

Jessie Bryant skirted defenders to enter the end zone on a 26-yard touchdown pass from Even. The third quarter saw Chambers pull down a 11-yard touchdown pass. Jamenta Shaw returned a blocked punt 10-yards for a MVSU TOUCHDOWN!!

Charlie Crenshaw scored on a 31-yard pass from Christopher Fowler. Chambers started the scoring for MVSU and closed it with a six-yard touchdown pass from Fowler.
Lynchburg scored a safety with 4:53.

The passing game for Mississippi Valley tallied 439 yards on 29 attempts and six touchdowns. Jett Even went 13-17-291 and four touchdowns. Christopher Fowler wnt 10-12-0 for 148-yards and two touchdowns.

Chambers pulled down 116-yards on six receptions and three touchdowns; in addition to his rushing touchdown.

Defensively, Adam Hamilton finished the contest with two solo tackles, three assists, for a total of five. Everett Nicholas tallied two solo and one assist for a total of three tackle one interception.

Mississippi Valley will host Jackson State University on Saturday, October 28 at 2:00 pm.
