PROVO, Utah. – For the 2017 season opener, the Delta Devils of Mississippi Valley took on Brigham Young University, dropping the contest 91-61.
BYU was able to score five-points, prior to a jumper by Arinze Anakwenze, who was assisted by Dante Scott. The teams played fast and furiously as they attempted to outscore and outperform their opponent. Brigham Young was able to take a 47-23 lead into halftime.
In the second half, Mississippi Valley improved their scoring and defense. They score 38-points without allowing BYU to reach another 47-point half, holding them instead, to 44.
Tereke Eckwood scored 16-points for MVSU, while Scott tallied 13 and Jamal Watson added 12.
