LOGAN, Utah. – Mississippi Valley State completed their contests in Utah at Utah State, where they fell 83-47.
The opening half was competitive as both teams were able to push the boundaries to score. Dante Scott landed an in-the-paint jumper to score the first points of the contest. The score early went back-and-forth as both teams struggled to gain their footing offensively. At 13:38, a jumper by Lorenzo Hunt pushed the Delta Devils up by four. Over the next 13-minutes, Utah State was able to take a five-point lead into halftime (33-28).
In the second half, Utah State came out blazing. They outpaced the Delta Devils 50-19 during the half to secure the victory.
Scott paced Mississippi Valley with 11-points, five-rebounds and two assists while Jordan Evans added 10-points, two assists and one steal. Jamal Watson also added five assists to aid the Delta Devils.
