KENT, Ohio – The Kent State Golden Flashes flashed in the right places to seal an 80-67 victory over the Delta Devils of Mississippi Valley State.
MVSU rallied back in the opening half, after Kent State went on a 10-4 run in the early minutes of the half. Mississippi Valley was able to push back, briefly holding an 11-10 lead, however, the Flashes were able to regain their footing on a 6-0 run. Entering the halftime break, MVSU trailed 34-27.
The Delta Devils opened the second half with a 7-0 run, to tie the contest at 38. Several key plays by Kent State had the desired results, as they were able to extend their lead out.
Emmanuel Ejeh paced the Delta Devils with 21-points, eight-rebounds and one assist; while Tereke Eckwood added 17-points, five assists, four-rebounds and two steals.
