PITTSBURGH – Mississippi Valley faced off against the Dukes of Duquesne in the A. J. Palumbo Center, dropping the contest 73-49.
The final score isn't a true reflection of the heart of the game. Mississippi Valley led 10-7 with 15:05, a three-point lead they maintained until the 12:12 mark. With offensive struggles on both sides of the ball, the Delta Devils entered the halftime break down by 14, with a score of 34-24.
The Dukes attempted to switch into high gear in the second, yet Mississippi Valley made the switch with them. MVSU hustled on both ends of the court, maintaining consistent pressure.
Scoring for the second half concluded with a box score of 39-29, a ten-point difference. This combined with the 14-points from the first half, gave the Dukes a 24-point victory margin.
Dante Scott led the Delta Devils with 11-points, six-points and one assist, while Gemaal Davis and Tereke Eckwood tallied nine and eight points respectively. Emmanuel Ejeh finished with nine rebounds for Mississippi Valley.
On December 16
th, the Delta Devils will travel to Akron, Ohio, to face the University of Akron. Tip-off is slated for 2:00 pm.
