PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – (Men's Basketball) Mississippi Valley State's Delta Devils basketball team entered Prairie View seeking revenge for the 87-72 loss they took in Itta Bena, Mississippi, at the hands of the Panthers of Prairie View A&M.
MVSU entered the contest with an air of expectancy. In the opening half, the Delta Devils' defense was rocky, which allowed the Panthers to take a commanding lead. Being held under 30-points, while allowing 42, made a possible rally difficult.
Exiting the locker room after the break showed a different Mississippi Valley team. With full court pressure and the offensive unit heating up, the Delta Devils were a force to be reckoned with. The final score shows the tale of two halves.
Rashaan Surles lead the team with 19-points, while TaJay Henry led the team in rebounds with seven. At the charity strip, the Delta Devils were 9-11, a vast improvement of previous performances.
The Delta Devils will face the Tigers of Texas Southern University on Monday February 20, 2017, at 7:30 p.m.
