HUNTSVILLE – (Baseball) Mississippi Valley's strong offensive and defensive presence prevailed 6-4 over the Bulldogs of Alabama A & M University.

With the pressures of the conference season mounting, MVSU's momentous victory in game two provided a glimmer of hope for the Delta Devils.

As with the first game, AAMU landed the first run on the board. Undeterred, MVSU pushed two runs in for the lead. The Bulldogs responded with another run to knot the game at two. In the top of the fourth and fifth, the Delta Devils scored two runs.

With their offensive attack, complete, Mississippi Valley went on the defensive. They allowed two runs in the seventh and the reminder of the contest was a shutout.

MVSU finished with six runs on eight hits and two errors.

Arrington Smith was credited with the win for the Delta Devils on the mound and Kevin Gonzalez received the save.
