LOGAN, Utah – The Delta Devils of Mississippi Valley State University continued to show signs of improvement against tough competition Tuesday before falling 94-59 at Utah State.
Jordan Evans scored a game-high 29 points to lead the Delta Devils (0-3). Evans shot 10-of-20 from the field and made eight 3-point shots out of 11 attempts, while also handing out four assists.
Dante Scott chipped in 20 points for Mississippi Valley State; he was 8-of-9 from the free throw line during the game.
Emmanuel Ejeh and Aleksa Koracin pulled in six rebounds apiece for the Delta Devils.
Valley enjoyed its best shooting night from behind the 3-point line, as the Delta Devils shot 45.5 percent (10 of 22) from long range. The Delta Devils have shot 42 percent (19 of 45) from the 3-point circle over the last two games after making just one out of 15 long-range shots in the season-opener at Nebraska.
Utah State's Brock Miller scored 26 points to lead three Aggies (3-0) in double-figures.
The Delta Devils continue their trek through Mountain Time Zone when they visit the Utah Utes on Thursday. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. local time (7 p.m. in Mississippi and the Central Time Zone).
