Utes turn away Delta Devils

SALT LAKE CITY – The Delta Devils of Mississippi Valley State concluded a two-game road trip to the state of Utah with 98-63 loss to the Runnin' Utes of Utah on Thursday.
 
Dante Scott led four Valley players scoring in double-figures, as he poured in a game-high 18 points on 5-of-10 shooting. Emmanuel Ejeh scored 10 points and pulled in a team-high six rebounds for the Delta Devils (0-4).
 
The Delta Devils also got some production from their bench, as Michael Green and Aleksa Koracin scored 10 points apiece. Green was 2-of-3 from the 3-point circle, while Koracin grabbed five rebounds.
 
Parker Van Dyke scored 16 points to lead Utah (2-1), a member of the Pac-12 Conference, one of the "Power 5" conferences in the NCAA's Division I.
 
Valley shot 35.3 percent (6 of 17) from the 3-point circle. The Utes shot 51.5 percent (35 of 68) from the field and made 47.2 percent (17 of 36) of their 3-point tries.
 
The Delta Devils continue their road trip Saturday with a trek to the Pittsburgh area for a game at Robert Morris. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, 6 p.m. locally in Mississippi.
