BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Mississippi Valley State senior wide receiver Booker Chambers earned not one, but two places on the All-Southwestern Athletic Conference teams, the league announced Thursday.
Chambers earned a spot on the All-SWAC First Team as a return specialist. He also earned Second Team honors as a receiver.
As a punt returner, Chambers averaged a SWAC-best 20.7 yards return. His 20.7 average was better than the next highest average by almost eight yards per return. Chambers led the SWAC with two punt returns for touchdowns – one from 90 yards out, and one from 85 yards out.
Chambers also averaged 25.0 yards per kick return, which also led the SWAC.
When the Delta Devils were on offense, Chambers caught 46 passes for 576 yards, both of which ranked fifth in the conference. He also caught four touchdown passes during the season.
Chambers also rushed for 338 yards and three touchdowns on 42 carries. His average of 8.0 yards per carry led the SWAC among players with more than 20 rushing attempts.
