ITTA BENA (Baseball) – The Delta Devils of Mississippi Valley have improved to 3-3 in conference play with a 9-5 win over the Alcorn State Braves.

The rubber match started with the Braves scoring in the top of the first. Mississippi Valley stepped up to the challenge in the bottom of the inning, scoring four runs. Fredrick Spencer, II singled through the right side, earning two RBIs, when Wendell Rieves and Aaron Barkely crossed home plate. Jancarlos Aponte singled to right center to earn two RBIs as he pushed in Spencer and Jeremiah Barr.
Mississippi Valley scored three runs in the second and two in the third, while holding the Braves to one in the top of the third. Quavante McGregory scored on an error by the catcher. Barr doubled to center field to score Willie Johnson and Barkley.
Parrish scored on a wild pitch to start scoring in the third for the Delta Devils. Johnson's double down the left line pushed Caleb Collier.
The Delta Devils completed the contest with nine runs on seven hits and no errors.
Zac Uecker recorded the win for Mississippi Valley on the mound.
