ITTA BENA (Baseball) – Game two of the three game series ended in favor of the Bulldogs of Alabama A & M, making Sunday's contest a rubber match and decider of the series. AAMU slipped past the Delta Devils 8-6.
Mississippi Valley tallied six runs on eight hits and five errors. Nicholas Johnson was credited with the loss for the Delta Devils.
Mississippi Valley took an early lead in the bottom of the first, scoring one runner. A long single to center field by Wendell Rieves allowed Aaron Barkley to score. AAMU scored four runners in the second and another in the third. Mississippi Valley tacked on three in the bottom of the third. Rieves doubled to score Willie Johnson. A single to right field by Jeremiah Barr scored Rieves and Barkley.
The Bulldogs score a single run in the fourth and seventh innings. The Delta Devils scored their final two runs in the seventh. Barr singled to centerfield and advanced to second on an error by the third basemen, Barkley scored and Morgan Lomax came home on the error.
In the ninth inning, the Bulldogs scored once more to wrap the contest up.
The two teams will face off again at 1:00 pm on Sunday, March 25.
