ITTA BENA (Baseball) – The rubber match goes to Mississippi Valley State to the tune of 12-7 over the visiting Bulldogs of Alabama A & M.

Mississippi Valley tallied 12 runs on ten hits and six errors. Zac Uecker was credited with the loss for the Delta Devils.

In the second inning, both teams scored two runs. In the fifth, the Bulldogs were able to score an additional two runners and another in the sixth. AAMU also scored twice in the ninth.

Unbothered the Delta Devils rallied back to score four runs in the sixth, one in the seventh and five in the eighth.

Let's talk scoring. In the second, Morgan Lomax doubled down the left line to score Fredrick Spencer, II and Wendell Rieves. In the sixth, Spencer singled to left field to score Aaron Barkley. A double by Jeremiah Barr to centerfield led to Lomax and Spencer coming home.

Marshall Parrish singled to centerfield and advanced on a throwing error by the second basemen, finishing the play at third, while pushing Barr across home plate. A single by Barkley to center field scored Willie Johnson.

In the eight inning, Mississippi Valley extended their lead and all but secured their victory. Parrish reached on an error by the third basemen and Lomax scored. Jancarlos Aponte doubled to right field, scoring Parrish and Barr. Aponte scored on a wild pitch. Rieves advanced to second on a wild pitch and Johnson scored.
